Al-Hikma Charitable Society concluded the medical convoy for eye surgery and combating blindness, which was carried out at Al-Ihsan Hospital in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, with funding from Al-Najat Charitable Society in the sisterly State of Kuwait.
The project aims to provide the necessary medical assistance to the poor and displaced eye patients in the capital’s Banadir region, with a focus on people with special needs and those living in camps in Mogadishu city and adjacent areas.
Over the course of 3 days, clinical examination was performed on an outpatient basis for thirty patients, diagnosing eye conditions. After diagnosing the patients, 27 patients were identified in need of surgical interventions, and they varied between large operations (23 cataract operations) and medium operations (4 operations).
